Bowland Beer Hall named Taproom of the Year at Pub & Bar Awards

Bowland Beer Hall at Holmes Mill was crowned Taproom of the Year at the 2022 National Pub and Bar Awards after it was named a regional winner for Lancashire back in April.

The regional winners from across the country gathered for the 2022 National Pub and Bar Awards in London on Wednesday 22nd June, where the results were announced. The fifteen regional winners were announced along with five key accolades: Unilever Pub Chef of the Year went to Andy Link of The Riverside in Aymestrey; Bartender of the Year was won by Harry Featherstone from The Red Lion in Cranford; Brewhouse & Kitchen scooped Pub Brand of the Year; Revolution was named Bar Brand of the Year and Bowland Beer Hall won Kegstar’s Taproom of the Year.

James Warburton, Managing Director of James’ Places said, “This is a fantastic win for the team and an honour to win this national award against such strong competition against some of the finest hostelries in the UK. It is a testament to the hard work that went into converting the Mill in the first place, and now the team who keeps things running day to day. We look forward to welcoming customers who may not have visited us before, who’d like to experience what Holmes Mill has to offer for the whole family.”

Bowland Beer Hallis nestled in the Holmes Mill complex in Clitheroe, a huge 19th century converted weaving mill. The Beer Hall was part of an extensive, multi-million pound project to redevelop Holmes Mill over the last seven years, including Bowland Brewery, Bowland Food Hall, a bar and bistro restaurant, a four-screen Everyman Cinema and a 39-bedroom hotel on site.
